Description
There are secrets in the town of Bon Temps, ones that threaten those closest to Sookie—and could destroy her heart...This is the last book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I got to read it early because I've got connections! Well, a connection.
Sookie Stackhouse finds it easy to turn down the request of former barmaid Arlene when she wants her job back at Merlotte’s. After all, Arlene tried to have Sookie killed. But her relationship with Eric Northman is not so clearcut. He and his vampires are keeping their distance…and a cold silence. And when Sookie learns the reason why, she is devastated.
Then a shocking murder rocks Bon Temps, and Sookie is arrested for the crime.
But the evidence against Sookie is weak, and she makes bail. Investigating the killing, she’ll learn that what passes for truth in Bon Temps is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough...
I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse series since I heard they were making the books into a TV show. I can tell you that if you're just looking for something fun without much literary merit, these are a fun read. However, I'd be lying if I didn't say it had it's issues. But in a series this long mistakes are bound to be made and the writing gets a little tired.
The plot is fairly weak and it felt like the author was just trying to wrap things up. Without spoiling the series I can say that I was glad she ended up with who she was with. It was who I thought was the best fit for her. I would really have liked to see an afterwords letting me know how things turned out for Sookie in the end, but I got the feeling that everything would work out and she was going to have a "happily ever after." Like I said, a fun read... something I could see myself reading at the beach.
